Certainly a crowd pleaser the Demonstration Seagull Race showcases participants from Havelocks Te Hoiere Seagull Club using their own unique boats.
The race involves a ‘Le Mans Start’ - running down the beach to the boat, starting the motor then around a marked course several times before racing back to the beach.
