From an early age, TomTom showed an aptitude for music. After noticing that he would pat his leg in time with music, around the age of 10 months old, his father bought him a set of drum sticks and made him a small drum kit out of milk formula cans. TomTom immediately began playing along to his father’s guitar playing and before he was 2 years old, TomTom performed his first gig in public. Seeing the need to nurture this incredible talent, his father reached out to his professional musician friends and in 2022, The Groove-Daddies were formed. The band features Jay Hay (isunray, Thunder Snail) on bass guitar and TomTom’s father Beau Redding (Jodie and the Stowaways, The Bojangles) on guitar and lead vocals. In 2023, 2024, and 2025 TomTom and the Groove-Daddies performed on the main stage at the Cancer Society’s Relay for Life events in Wellington as well the Wairarapa Relay for Life in 2023 and 2025. |
