A scholarship fund has been established by the Picton Maritime Festival Trust to assist local Marlborough boys and girls who might not otherwise be able to afford the cost of a tertiary, trade, polytechnic or other courses or training to further their knowledge in their chosen field.  Scholars will be selected from Marlborough and be New Zealand citizens who are bona fide residents. 

Preference will be given to those who might otherwise not be able to afford a tertiary, trade, polytechnic or other courses or training including sporting aspirations.
